Fit club is all heart
Well done to the Baffins Fit Club for raising £1,500 for a lifesaving defibrillator.
The kit has been fitted on the outside of the Alderman Lacey library on Tangiers Road for use by any members of the public in an emergency.
It was unveiled by members of the club along with the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Coun Ken Ellcome and city councillors.
According to the Portsmouth News, members of the fit club Helen Mayhead and Julie Fuller came up with the idea and together with group member Kate English led the campaign.
They thanked the community for all its support in raising the money and the council for getting the defibrillator and its case installed.
Congratulations to all involved! Read more on the News’ website at
