Chinneck Shaw director's amazing story on the road to the London Marathon
2017 is turning out to be a special year for Chinneck Shaw Director Susan Shaw. On 11th April she turned 50 and celebrated 12 days later by running the London Marathon. Running a Marathon was on her ‘bucket’ list, and reaching her half centenary seemed like a good reason to tick that one off. Susan raised just over £2,000 for QA Hospital, Cancer Research UK and Macmillian.Three charities that are important to her.
In October 2011, Susan was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, a further 12 months of Herceptin infusion and reconstructive surgery, all under the watchful eye of the consultants at QA Hospital. She’s just pleased that she had the opportunity to give something back, and in fact she loved the whole event so much, she’s hoping to do it all over again next year! We’re very proud of her achievement.
Thank you to everyone who gave their support and to anyone thinking about running in next years marathon, Susan will see you on the start line.
