Boris Johnson reveals plans for 3,500 new London homes

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has revealed news that a total
of 3,500 new homes will be built across the capital in an
announcement which will please those looking for
property for sale in London.
Mr Johnson has already promised to deliver 50,000 affordable homes
by spring 2012 but is speeding up the release of Homes and
Communities Agency (HCA) owned plots of land. It is hoped this will
help more London-dwellers own properties and revitalise the
economy.
The government is working with housing associations and developers
to bring forward a number of development areas to be used as plots
for homes.
Mr Johnson, said: "At a time of tough financial belt tightening and
a need for more affordable homes, releasing these sites for
development boosts housing supply and provides a welcome shot in
the arm for jobs and the capital's economy.”
The latest release of 8.1 hectares of land on a site in Dagenham
was confirmed last week at a meeting of the HCA London Board.
