Ahipp unhappy with Shapps pledge
The government's support of Home information packs (Hips) could
come under fire after it was revealed that a major provider of them
is to stop operating.
Both the Hip Facilities and subsidiary Hip Payment Services
announced that they are to end trading because of the present
difficulties being seen in the housing market, reports
24dash.com.
They traded in the deferred payment section of the market - in
which customers pay for the service when the property is
bought.
Grant Shapps, Conservative shadow minister for housing, noted that
this may be the beginning of the end for Hips.
"Labour ministers have led business up the garden path, promising a
golden future for pack providers that was only ever going to end in
tears," he commented.

Providers Mike Ockenden responded by suggesting that the Tories
should not give advice in this area.
